Lighting the Way

Lighting the Way

There is a cool, new bike helmet for the cycling fashionista. It is the Lazer Urbanize. This bike helmet was designed for the urban rider with simple, clean lines.

The Lazer Urbanize bike helmet has many features. First, it has two built-in LED lights: one in front and one in back. These lights aid in increasing the cyclist’s visibility. Second, the lighted helmet has channel air vents to aid in air flow to keep your head cooler. It also is made out of Coolmax fabric which is a fiber-based moisture management system. The coolest feature of this helmet is the Rollsys. There is a dial on top of the helmet. You roll the dial in order to adjust the helmet. No more hard-to-adjust straps. You just roll a dial and your helmet adjusts to fit your head.

While the Lazer Urbanize has been designed to be "hip", it still looks pretty dorky. One cannot get away from the fact that bike helmets are, in general, just dorky looking. The lights on the helmet add to overall biking safety. The ventilation on this helmet, according to www.bikehugger.com, moves a surprising amount of air. Bikehugger.com also makes mention of the fact that water accumulates on the visor which eventually is dumped into your face.

You can purchase this helmet for around $100. Many online retailers carry this helmet, including Amazon.com. If you are one that likes to shop in a retail stores, you can find a shop by going to the manufacturer’s site: www.lazerhelmets.com.

Happy cycling!
