The financial advisor survey showed that: 68 of respondents consider the Internet as their most important source ofinvesting information. 50 reported spending more time on the Internet (not including e-mail) thisyear. 39 of these advisors spend 20 or more hours per week on the Internetexcluding e-mail, (both at work and non-work sessions). Only 1 spent less time on the Internet compared to 39 who spent less timereading daily newspapers, 28 who spent less time watching television and 24who spent less time listening to the radio. But with a mean wait time of over three years for a kidney transplant,even old kidneys are in demand. Research in this months issue of the Journal of the American Society ofNephrology begins to establish a method for projecting future kidney function,which could be a boon to the more than 82,000 people in the United Statesawaiting kidney transplants. Jane Tan, MD, PhD, assistant professor of nephrology at the Stanford UniversitySchool of Medicine, has quantified the function of older kidneys that have beentransplanted into patients compared with younger ones.
